Artist Statement
The subject matter in time and space becomes the first step in my process of creating the concept for my transparent watercolour paintings. The
weather condition, quality of light and season modify the colour, texture and observed shape in the composition of the painting.
The images are manipulated to give the illusion of incident space through proportion, form, media, placement and hue. This illusory
imagery creates a mythical distance between me and the observer.
I want to enable an intuitive feeling of sensitivity, through layers of interpretation, both visually and symbolically, in dynamic, coherent
composition, which emphasizes that the urban or rural VISUAL IMPRESSION will be a continual emotional experience to the patron.
